The board is keeping an eye on all that is happening with
COVID-19 and will make adjustments to the meetings as needed.

The board would like to provide a socially distanced, and safe option for those members who feel comfortable joining in person, as well as providing an option for members who prefer a virtual option.  Please make the best decision for yourself - the board wants everyone to feel comfortable and be included in the meetings!

This Week: Cedar Falls Community Main Street
Kim Bear, is the Executive Director of Cedar Falls Community Main Street. She will be giving us an update on what is going on with the CF downtown area this winter & 2021.

Kim Bear was born and raised in Cedar Falls and is a UNI graduate. Kim was the Events and Promotions Coordinator for Community Main Street from 2016 until this April when she became the Executive Director. Kim is married to her husband Taylor and they have three children.
The holidays are approaching...that means groceries and gas!  Don't forget to save your HyVee receipts to help Orchard Hill Elementary.
This Week our very own Jessica Rucker , The Executive Director of Main Street Waterloo, joined us to update us on all the ways to support local businesses for the holidays, and on their new social media campaign "There's Lots To Do in Waterloo"  that will feature local businesses and local business owners. In Downtown Waterloo there are 20 plus retailers, 27 eateries, 22 options for nightlife, and 13 salons, AND through December 19th there are also 19 pop up vendors! Downtown Waterloo is having their Shop Downtown Saturdays from November 7th - December 19th and is now featuring an opportunity for 2 hours FREE parking to shop downtown ( now through end of year). Jessica also shared with us their Winter Wonderloo holiday activities that have included a virtual tree lighting, a virtual 5K run, and a Magical Mailbox for letters to Santa. She encouraged us to take advantage of all the opportunities to support our local community, spread the word, share, like, tag, and repost on social media, and engage in the mayor's new challenge. We thank her for all she does for both our Rotary and to make our community great!

Rotary Opens Opportunities
Rotary is not just a club you join. It is an invitation to endless opportunities. It opens opportunities to serve in a project as big and historic as End Polio Now and also in a small community project, where you just plant a tree. It opens opportunities for you to live a richer, more meaningful life, with friends around the world, based on our core values. Everything we do opens another opportunity for someone, somewhere.
The 2020-2021 theme is: Rotary Opens Opportunities.
