This Week: 4th Wednesday at Stuffed Olive Cedar Falls
314 Main Street, Cedar Falls
This past week Kim Bear , the Events and Promotions Coordinator for Cedar Falls downtown joined us . She shared with us updates on "Streetscape" the ongoing project to replace street lights, sidewalks, benches, bike racks and more in downtown Cedar Falls with a goal of creating a more vibrant area, beautifying the area, and creating connectivity and a sense of place. The first phase has been completed and construction will start again in the spring. She also updated us that parking in Cedar Falls downtown will now be free through April of 2021.Times listed on specific meters still apply but the lots do not have a limit. She also shared with us photos of the new Plaza area downtown and of the immensely successful Holiday Hoopla drive through event. Kim encourages us all to shop small, shop local, and reminded us all that Community Main Street Gift Certificates are great for gifts for family and friends! Also look out for Facebook live events with downtown business owners on Monday nights. We thank her for all she does to make downtown beautiful and create connection in the community!
Rotary is not just a club you join. It is an invitation to endless opportunities. It opens opportunities to serve in a project as big and historic as End Polio Now and also in a small community project, where you just plant a tree. It opens opportunities for you to live a richer, more meaningful life, with friends around the world, based on our core values. Everything we do opens another opportunity for someone, somewhere.
The 2020-2021 theme is: Rotary Opens Opportunities.
