Thank you to all who have served our country
The board is keeping an eye on all that is happening with
COVID-19 and will make adjustments to the meetings as needed.

They met on 11/4/20 to re-evaluate our meeting format and the rising numbers.  It was decided by vote continue with hybrid meetings.  The board would like to provide a socially distanced, and safe option for those members who feel comfortable joining in person, as well as providing an option for members who prefer a virtual option.  Please make the best decision for yourself - the board wants everyone to feel comfortable and be included in the meetings!  Things will be re-evaluated for our December meetings.

Thank you to all who participated in our
End Polio Now efforts in October!
Thank you all of the members who sold and purchased raffle tickets, donated to the GoFundMe!, and secured prizes for the raffle. This is a big project for our club each year and takes all of us to be successful.  With the match from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, our club was able to raise more than $6,000 this year.  That may be a record for our club.  You all deserve a pat on the back!!
Due to the holiday and scheduling conflicts, the November board meeting has been moved to 11/18 following the regular meeting.
The holidays are approaching...that means groceries and gas!  Don't forget to save your HyVee receipts to help Orchard Hill Elementary.
Do you need a Rotary polo or t-shirt?
Members are able to order a Nike polo, or t-shirt to wear at service projects and around town.  Each polo is $38 and t-shirts are $10. You can email Mike Reyhons at the link below with your order.  We will coordinate invoicing once you place your order.
Lee Ann Saul joined us to share this year's plans for Holiday Hoopla. Holiday Hoopla has been a downtown Cedar Falls event the last 12 years , full of holiday fun and always an appearance from Santa, who always arrives in different exciting and surprising ways.  Holiday Hoopla is fueled every year by 131 sponsors and 100 plus volunteers who hang lights and garlands, and so much more. The Kick off for Holiday Hoopla is always the Friday after Thanksgiving with additional associated events unfolding throughout December. This year the event , which has a theme of "Don't Stop Believing", will look a little different due to Covid 19 . It will kick off with a Hoopla Cruise where participants will drive through 12 different locations while listening to announcements and holiday music on the radio. Children will also speak to Santa through a plexiglass window and using a microphone ,and there will be a Hoopla Cheer event where characters will deliver food from downtown restaurants to people's cars. We thank Lee Ann for getting us in the Holiday spirit and for her efforts to make the event successful every year!

Rotary Opens Opportunities
Rotary is not just a club you join. It is an invitation to endless opportunities. It opens opportunities to serve in a project as big and historic as End Polio Now and also in a small community project, where you just plant a tree. It opens opportunities for you to live a richer, more meaningful life, with friends around the world, based on our core values. Everything we do opens another opportunity for someone, somewhere.
The 2020-2021 theme is: Rotary Opens Opportunities.
